Getting upset because of how the author chose to end their book is a YOU problem

One of the biggest dark romance authors released the conclusion of their latest series the other day, and not everyone was happy… her IG was flooded with comments, airing their disappointment to how she chose to end the characters’ journey. While most were civil, there were those that crossed the line.

Harassing the author is crossing the line

I can get why you can become upset, with the whole parasocial relationship and all. You spend years living and breathing the characters. You are invested, but in the end, it’s the authors decision. It’s the author telling the story they want to tell. If a person becomes so invested in a characters fate that they choose to invade the authors space and/or become verbally abusive because of a difference of opinion, the issue at hand is far beyond a fictional character.

Everyone is allowed their opinion, but the author has every right to be oblivious to it. Scream it from tge roof top, do a review, or make a video of it. Don’t seek out the author.
